Rain Crystal Water Distiller

Non ToxicPurifiesMade in USA

Pyrex glass water distiller gives "full spectrum water purification which addresses every pollution problem in a consistently effective, one-step process...designed to assure removal of volatile chemical contaminants, made from inert Pyrex glass to eliminate the metallic contamination that can be caused by stainless steel." Removes taste/odor, hardness, total salts, organic chemicals, bacteria, and viruses. This is actually one of my favorite drinking water filters. I used one for many years until we got our whole-house filter. It requires a bit of plumbing and you have to make and store the water, but it is delicious and pure.

Hey Debra, I was wondering, how did you store your water when you used this? Were you able to make enough water for cooking? I MUST get a water filter asap, and I would need it mostly for cooking, but we're in the military, and we move from one place to another, so can't install a whole house filter. This one seems to be the most effective one, (EZ clear under the sink filters seem very good too, except that they don't remove lead and fluoride), so I am very interested, but I was wondering how am I going to store enough water for cooking. I use at least 8 gallons of water every time I prepare a meal, in order to rinse off all my veggies...

I would like to hear your idea about this, especially since you used this one filter.

Thanks so much!

I stored my water in a 5 gallon glass bottle (like home delivery bottles) on a tip stand. This one in the picture was sold used, I can't seem to find them new to give you a link.

I think you can get eight gallons in a 24-hour period.

I loved this water and this distiller. I only stopped using it because when we moved to Florida there was so much sediment in the water it clogged the filter beyond our patience to unclog it.

So if you are using it in an area with a lot of sediment, I would suggest using a prefilter to remove the sediment and then run the water through the distiller.

In your list of water products, Brita is not mentioned.  Can you please tell me why?

Sincerely

I don't recommend small pitcher type filters because they do not contain enough filter media to do much good. Also, Brita removes only chlorine, and most water supplies contain chloramines, which need a special type of carbon.
